Vanguard Technologies is a growing systems, services and consultancy company dedicated to using innovative technologies to solve complex management problems.

Vanguard has launched a software testing consultancy practice based on the exciting new paradigm known as model-based testing.  Using the latest advances in model-based testing we are able to bring significant cost reduction in software testing because we do not need an army of testers to write test scripts. Instead a model of the application behaviour is created and it is this model that is used to automatically generate all the required test cases. These test cases are then sent to the application under test and responds are evaluated in real-time to detect software defects.

We are currently seeking exceptional associate consultants with experience in Model-Based Testing or UML software modelling using UML State Machines to model application behaviour as specified by user requirements.   We are also looking for Test Managers with experience with the traditional approaches to software testing who can help our clients implement the change from the old way of testing to this exciting new technology.

As a consultant you will need to be able to determine and model system behaviour using UML state charts and state machines from various requirements design documents and artefacts.  We will train you to use Conformiq Test Generator to create UML test models, you just bring your UML modelling and analysis expertise.

You do not need to have any programming experience, but it will be useful as you will need to use the UML action language provided by our toolsets . Rather you need good business analyst skills and are able to quickly understand our client’s documented software requirements and translate them into state machine behaviour test models.  Furthermore you should be capable of learning quickly as we will give you any training that you require to get up to speed in this area.

If you are applying for the Test Manager role, you should understand all aspects of software testing and be able to manage small teams of Model-Based Test consultants.  You should be able to have good communication and management skills.  You do not need to have model-based testing experience, we will give you any additional training you require.

As a test manager you will be expected to help Vanguard win business by attending sales meeting with our sales people and helping in the preparation of business proposals, which you will be subsequently engaged on if we win the business.

Most of our engagements likely to be medium to long term (3 months to 12 months) and rates are negotiable and depend on role, level of your experience, and contract length.
