Vanguard Technologies uses XMF/Mosaic to extend Test Models to include Domain Specific Languages

Vanguard Technologies Ltd, Dublin, Ireland.  03-April-2006.  After extensive investigations Vanguard Technologies has decided to use the Domain Specific Modeling Tool kit XMF/Mosaic to convert Domain Specific Design Models into Test Models that can be used by Conformiq Test Generator to automatically generate model-driven test cases for testing of software applications and embedded products.

Traditional approaches to software testing suffer from a lack of clear, complete and unambiguous requirements coupled with problems of creating and maintaining test scripts and a lack functional test coverage. Products like Test Generator ® enable a test model to be created which will then be used to automatically generate all the required test cases for the functional test coverage selected. There is no need to create or maintain test scripts and changes to user requirements will easily be reflected changes to the test model.  However using XML/Mosaic means that we can expand the range of models used to create test models to include non-UML models.

Vanguard will be using other products such as Test Generator ® and TTworkbench ® together with Vanguard Model Based Testing methodology to provide a model based testing service using software design models to automatically generate the software test models which is then used to automatically generate and executed the required software test cases.
